Discover how the St. Mark's School of Texas International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Team is impacting the world today. Through an integration of disciplines, the Team strives to advance humanity through the pursuit of innovative and original research while directly engaging with our community through programs such as the Brendan Court Enrichment Program and the Jubilee Community Center for inner-city students. The Team is committed to inspiring students to become passionate scientists and good leaders in tomorrow's world.
See how the Team is revolutionizing the path of future St. Mark's School of Texas Marksmen through increased independent research on campus. Our long-term project involves the creation of a potential noninvasive, sensitive, and inexpensive screening system for lung cancer.
Inspiring Tomorrow was directed by Halbert Bai. The original score was composed by Chirag Gokani. The film includes interviews from Luke Williams, Tim O'Meara, Mark Adame, Killian Green, Rohin Maganti, Raymond Guo, Rohan Pinto, Ali Ahmed, Akshay Malhotra, Kevin Wu, Jonathan Ng, Shaheer Khan, Jeffrey Wu, Vikrant Reddy, Abhi Thummala, Vishal Gokani, and Halbert Bai.
The St. Mark's iGEM Team was founded in the fall of 2013 as the first iGEM Team in the state of Texas. Promotional video for the nonprofit USA250 directed and edited by Halbert Bai and created for Jon Grabelle Herrmann, Executive Director of USA250. Cece Charendoff was the Assistant Director and Kelsey White was the Assistant Producer. Music by Chirag Gokani and synthsrule1 of Youtube.
About USA250 from their website www.USA250.org: "USA250’s vision is to convene citizens and leaders from all 50 states to renew the American project through a celebration and exposition of democracy, education, innovation, the arts, sports, and sustainable development in the modern era. The 250th will be anchored in Philadelphia, with partnerships extended nationwide.
This approach builds off the Centennial precedent and is rooted in Philadelphia’s role as host to the First and Second Continental Congresses, the signing of the Declaration of Independence and later the Constitution. Philadelphia remains a symbol to the nation and the world of the great experiment launched 250 years ago. Geographically, the Philadelphia region is positioned at the center of the East Coast, midway between America’s present-day capitals of politics and finance."
